Cost Accountant

Description Robert Half is looking for a cost accountant to join our client! This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. You will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. This position is for a talented Cost Accountant looking for a company experiencing substantial growth.Your responsibilities in this role

Make calculations of new and proposed product costs

Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

Record and examine changes in goods and services, and determine the effects on cost

Create reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

Examine manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

Generate and complete internal cost audits

Log a detailed record of collected data

Analyze costs and recommend cost savings

Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

Support audits and general ledger preparation

Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

Design a cost accounting system, and manage the documents and records of the organization- Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory

Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants Requirements - Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts

2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

Extremely detailed and analytical

Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
