Direct-Hire Cost Accountant opportunity with a global manufacturing organization! Job Description: We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins. As a Cost Accountant, you will handle month-end closing processes, account reconciliations, and variance analyses. Key tasks include inventory costing within the ERP system, supporting audits, and managing fixed assets and capital expenses. You'll ensure financial accuracy per GAAP, assist with SOX testing and annual audits, and participate in special projects as needed. The position reports to the Operational Controller. Responsibilities

Perform the month-end closing process and prepare journal entries for inventory, COGS, fixed assets, and general accounting.

Perform account reconciliations in Inventory, Cost of Sales, and General Ledger

Perform variance analysis (e.g., Purchase Price Variance, Work Order variances).

Assist in inventory costing and related activities within the ERP system.

Support activities between internal audit, external auditors, and management.

Assist with Year-end physical inventory and response to audit inquiries.

Responsible for Capital expense tracking, Fixed Assets accounting, Prepaid expense amortization, Business Property Tax return filings, and US Census Survey reporting

Ensure accuracy of financial information in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.

Assist and prepares for SOX Testing, annual external audits, and other financial audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

5 years of public or private industry experience in cost accounting.

Medium to large company accounting experience.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Info XA ERP and BNA Fixed Assets experience a plus.

Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Work EnvironmentProfessional office environment, involving interaction with internal audit, external auditors, and management. Onsite Monday-Friday.
