Counselor/ Caregiver for Adult Residential Facility

Compensation: Pay range is from $16 - $20 hourly

Employment type: full-time/part-time

OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Administrator and the work guidance, the Counselor/Caregiver is the primary caregiver to the adults, providing leadership and supervision. The Counselor/Caregiver ensures the safety and security of the adults at all times working in coordination with the care team.

The Counselor/Caregiver is responsible for the safety, supervision, and interaction with Developmentally Disabled individuals between ages 18 to 59 years old in an Adult Residential Facility.

Currently, we are seeking candidates for the following shifts: PM (Swing), and night; Weekend all shifts, and Overnight.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Ensure the safety of the residents at all times consistent with agency standards of supervision.

Assist the residents in the performance of regular daily activities, including bed making, personal hygiene, room cleaning, and all other chores normally expected of adults in the Adult Residential Facility.

Provide a caring, warm, consistent environment for the adults through setting clear boundaries, supporting, encouraging, and giving verbal praise and acknowledgment to residents for positive actions and decisions to help build self-esteem, positive thinking, problem-solving, proper language, coping skills, respect for others and self and brainstorming alternative, appropriate behaviors, etc.

Works closely and maintains consistent and appropriate communication with other staff

Maintains knowledge of each resident’s Target Behavior, Function of Behavior, and Therapeutic Behavioral Interventions

QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years old.

A Bachelor’s Degree if available is preferred.

A minimum of one year of experience working in an Adult Residential Facility. If you have DSP, you will be paid more.
