Position Overview:The incumbent uses independent judgment and operates computerized tomography (CT) equipment to produce quality diagnostic cross-sectional images of any part of the body for review and interpretation by a radiologist. The technologist produces quality diagnostic radiographs and is experienced with general radiographic equipment and procedures. The incumbent utilizes departmental policies and procedures in meeting patent needs and adheres to proper quality utilization and risk management policies and practices. The incumbent ensures effective communication and performs duties in a manner which promotes team concepts. Must be able to travel in and out of Stanislaus County, and must possess valid California Driver’s License and upon request proof of liability insuranceSutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management.Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:High school diploma is required.

Current licensure as a Certified Radiology Technologist (CRT) from the State of California is required.

Current licensure as a Registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required.

Current Advanced Computed Tomography (CT) licensure, OR must obtain within one year of hire is required.

Current IV Certification, OR must obtain within one year of hire is required.

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HP) card is required.

The individual must have completed a formal or have at least (2) years experience on the job training in CT prior to 2014. (If on the job training or new CT Technologist after 2014 must have formal didactic course in CT.)

Knowledge of age-specific criteria for population served.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:Radiology Fluoroscopy (RHF) preferred.

Experience with CR, DR, PACs, GE multi-slice scanner, power injectors, and all ancillary equipment are preferred.

Experience with equipment from a wide variety of manufacturers is desirable.

Skills and Knowledge:Must have a thorough understanding of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax, and abdomen, and also be proficient at CTA brain and body scanning techniques.

Knowledge of age-specific dose indexing.

Knowledge of pitch adjusting, smart prep, and bolus timing.

Must be extremely well-versed in basic anatomy, with special attention to neuro anatomy, physiology, body positioning, and proper equipment usage.

Must maintain a working knowledge of the latest developments in CT procedures and techniques.

Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must have initiative to work efficiently without constant supervision and direction.
