About Maker Studio Kidz

Maker Studio Kidz is a creative learning studio where children explore art, design, and innovation through hands-on projects that blend STEAM, creativity, and play. Our mission is to inspire curiosity, confidence, and imagination in every child who walks through our doors.

We’re seeking a Curriculum Developer to design and document engaging, hands-on curriculum across our school programs, birthday and brand events, and seasonal camps — as well as create digital learning content for our growing online platforms (Substack, lesson library, and educator resources).

This role is ideal for a creative educator, content developer, or program designer who loves turning imaginative ideas into structured, teachable experiences that are both fun and meaningful.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development (60%)

- Design and document project-based Art & STEM lessons for Pre-K to 5th grade audiences.

- Develop curriculum for school enrichment programs, themed birthday parties, and seasonal camps.

- Write detailed lesson plans, supply lists, and visual guides for teachers and facilitators.

- Align all activities with learning goals, creativity, and Maker Studio Kidz’s brand style.

- Develop digital templates, project sheets, and educator/parent guides.

- Collaborate with the production team to prototype, test, and refine new projects.

Digital Content & Communication (20%)

- Create and publish engaging content for Substack, website, and digital toolkits that share creative curriculum ideas, business insights, and maker education trends.

- Collaborate with the education and marketing teams to develop storytelling-based digital content that showcases curriculum and impact.

- Repurpose curriculum materials into shareable formats (articles, printables, or short videos).

- Maintain a digital archive of curriculum materials, creative assets, and documentation.

Lead Teacher – Camps & Special Projects (10%)

- Serve as a lead teacher during seasonal camps or special studio events to test and model new curriculum.

- Support training and mentoring of teaching staff to ensure high-quality program delivery.

- Gather real-time feedback from students and instructors to inform curriculum improvements.

Research & Innovation (10%)

- Stay up to date with creative education trends, STEAM learning innovations, and sustainable art practices.

- Experiment with new materials, themes, and tools to keep content fresh and engaging.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in education, art, design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 2–4 years experience in curriculum design, classroom teaching, or educational content creation.

- Strong writing, documentation, and creative planning skills.

- Experience designing hands-on art, maker, or STEM projects for children.

- Comfortable using digital tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, Notion, or Substack.

- Familiarity with photography, video documentation, or design layout tools is a plus.

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced creative environment.
