Joinour eliteteam as a CV Tech within the Cath Lab at the Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. As the largest center on the West Coast for cardiovascular medicine, research, and training, this team is helping to shape heart care around the world. Including 108 private acute-care rooms and 59 intensive-care rooms, as well as two state-of-the-art hybrid surgical suites and as many as six catheter labs for interventional cardiology, diagnostic testing and digital imaging. The ideal candidate will thrive in this challenging, high-volume environment, and will partner closely with a world-class team to provide excellent patient care.

The CV Tech will assist the physician as a scrub or monitor tech during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization procedures and electrophysiological procedures. The CV Tech will assist with preparation of the patient for these procedures and maintain a therapeutic environment. Set up, operate, and ensure proper functioning of equipment associated with the procedures. Monitor and record events, including the performance of hemodynamic calculations. Remove selected arterial and venous sheaths post-procedure. Assist with patient transportation. Participate in quality control, preventive maintenance and performance activities.

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position(72hrs/pay period) working day shift located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.New Hire Incentive available up to $4,000 for those who qualify!

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the followingcriteria must be met:

  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offerletter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis andmay result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically notedin your offer letter.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or minimum of six months recent experience in an Interventional Cath Lab.
  • Technical competence in aspects of patient monitoring, diagnostic/therapeutic Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Ability to manage/prioritize during a crisis or stressful situation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.

Required Certification/Registration:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an EP Lab and/or Interventional Cath Lab environment within a hospital setting.
  • EP and/or Cath Lab Scrub or Monitor experience.
