Location: 100% Remote. Must sit in the US.

Position Description: SMCI is seeking a Data Analyst that is highly motivated, with a passion for modeling, analytics, and technology. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, with a passion for modeling, analytics, and technology. The successful candidate will be given opportunities to apply their expertise to enhance the way data is used to inform and make decisions.

This may include, but is not limited to, the following :
  • Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filtering, cleaning, and organizing raw data
  • Working with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities
  • Working with large quantities of data to enable general workflows such as data processing, cleaning, and labeling.
  • Developing, enhancing, automating, and managing analytics models
  • Creating striking visualizations to aid in data interpretation and usage
  • Demonstrating modeling and visualization approaches as part of proof-of-concept projects

Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience processing, filtering, cleaning, and standardizing large datasets.
  • Ability to restructure, pivot, and reform data based on current needs
  • Experience with Python data libraries such as Numpy and Pandas.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, and Spotfire.
  • Experience with data visualization tools or packages, such as Tableau, Smartsheet, Excel
  • Experience with advanced statistical/analytical techniques
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical software package
  • Knowledge of multiple programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, C, MATLAB, or R
  • Understanding business needs and developing novel yet practical solutions to meet those needs
  • Passion for proactively identifying opportunities through creative data analysis and modeling
  • Intellectual curiosity with ability to learn new concepts/frameworks, algorithms and technology rapidly as needs arise

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Creating striking visualizations to aid in data interpretation and usage.
  • Prototyping, building, and customizing analytical applications, often based off data scientist model output, to enable in-depth analysis
  • Constantly iterating with the business on analysis and dashboard design to ensure all necessary features and data are present
  • Partnering with IS and Data Engineers to ensure that the models feeding the dashboards are robust, functional, and relevant to business needs
  • Exploring and evaluating new techniques to improve data processing capabilities.

Compensation :
  • The estimated pay range for this position is USD $38.00/Hr - USD $48.00/Hr and is a non-Exempt role.
  • Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
This position may be assigned to a client that requires all individuals on-site to have the COVID-19 vaccination. The individual must be fully vaccinated before starting work at such a client site.
