Data and System Analyst for our direct client.

Location: Sunnyvale, CADuration: 12 Months Estimated pay range: $35 - $43.87 an hour per client contract and candidate skills, experience and work location.

Description: Data and System Analyst

Primary Function of Position: This position is responsible for data management and data analysis for Project Portfolio Management and Resource Management process and Clarity Database.In this role, you will also be responsible for maintaining ongoing data integrity and will help drive data-decision making to PMO success. The ideal candidate would have deep hands-on experience with data analytics and visualization tools. It would be important to analyze large data sets of often unstructured data, identify patterns/trends and develop charts/communication that would be used for executive presentations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding and experience with enterprise tools including SAAS/cloud, Project and Portfolio Management, data analytics, and change management. This person would need to be highly collaborative and have the ability to work with cross functional managers, analysts and other stakeholders within the PMO team and the Finance team. The candidate will be an effective communicator able to lead and facilitate meetings, a solid relationship builder, is detail-oriented, a problem solver, and skilled at building engagement and adoption for new processes and tools in fast paced hi-tech organizations.

Job Responsibilities • Handle ad hoc reporting and analytics requests, while addressing stakeholders' long-term needs and driving insights for Resource Managers, Project Managers, and Executives using existing dashboards and datasets.• Support database queries to enable data import and export from PMO, Finance and HR Enterprise tools and dashboards.• Develop automated solution for repetitive tasks using Excel, macro, script or Tableau etc.• Oversee quarterly efficient allocation of a large number of resources across different business units and functions to multiple programs in the portfolio with the aim of increasing resource allocation & productivity.• Build reporting tools or Tableau dashboards that convert unstructured data into insight enabling effective resource allocation, improving project execution efficiency or lowering fixed costs• Prepare the presentations for execution cycles (monthly/quarterly) for recurring processes such as project planning, resource management, staff forecasting, portfolio analysis and planning.• Effectively communicate with cross-functional partners and internal teams to deliver solutions in a timely fashion• Work with leaders in the PMO department to define, plan, and track business process improvement projects in the PMO and across the company.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in field with quantitative focus (e.g., Business, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience• 4+ years’ experience with problem solving and providing practical business insights and recommendations using large volume data sets from multiple sources• Strong problem-solving ability, high attention to detail, can-do attitude, and desire to learn• Strong cross-functional and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate technical content to general audiences• Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)• Strong analytical skills with knowledge of Excel and MS SQL• Strong work ethic and an enthusiasm for problem solving and data analysis• Self-starter and able to work independently in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications: • Understanding of Design Controls for medical devices preferred• Familiarity with the Clarity PPM tool, Project Portfolio Management or Project/Program Management preferred• Knowledge of advanced visualization principles within a data presentation context (e.g., dashboards, presentation decks)• Experience working with HR/organizational people data preferred• Experience with data management, specifically with building data systems and validating reports from disparate systems
