Roles and Responsibilities

hands-on experience in servers - cabling, connection, SW installation, troubleshooting. Rack and stack servers
  • HPE DL ProLiant servers
  • HPE SD Flex Superdome servers
  • HPE 3PAr storage units
  • HPE other storage units
  • HPE switches
  • Install power distribution units to racks
Install I/O cards
  • I/O cards for DL servers
  • I/O cards for SD Flex servers
  • I/O cards for 3par storage
Insert memory DIMM
  • Install memory DIMMs to DL servers
  • Install memory DIMMs to SD Flex servers
Install software (also downgrade FW but seek help)
  • Update firmware to DL servers via ILO
  • Update firmware to SD Flex via CLI
  • Update firmware on storage devices
  • Update firmware on NVDIMM memory
  • Update firmware on switches
  • Install Linux Operating System
  • Install Windows Operating System
  • Install VMWare (rarely but good to know)
Troubleshooting ( manuals are provided in jump servers)
  • Familiar with DL servers
  • Familiar with SD Flex servers
  • Familiar with HPE storage devices
  • Familiar with basic and advance networking
  • Familiar with Linux and Windows Operating System
Cabling
  • Running copper and fiber cables
  • Running specialized cables for server and storage (manuals provided or directed by engineers)
