DescriptionSAIC is looking for a Data Center Technician Administrator in San Jose, CA to support the US Army Corps of Engineers on the Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) through data center hardware (Routers, switches, and wireless) support under a DoD/DISN environment. Duties include configuring and installing new or replacement data center hardware, configuring and supporting the wireless network, and maintaining network documentation. Assist Supervisors in managing projects, circuit activations, installs, refreshes, outages, meeting DISA security requirements, and maintaining documentation.NOTE: This role is remote with on-site activities in San Jose, CA.JOB DESCRIPTION

Operate, optimize, and maintain the infrastructure within the data center environment.

Troubleshoot and resolve system related issues, such as connectivity problems, routing errors and performance degradation.

Responsible for rack/stack, cabling, maintenance and troubleshooting of all IT equipment, tools and consumables in the data center.

Adhere and enforce data center best practices such as cable management, airflow management, labeling end to end communication and power cables in accordance with data center standards.

Install updates to network equipment and IOS (IOS-XE, NXOS) software.

Ensure network hardware has a secure baseline configuration and meets DISA Security Technical Implementation guide (STIG) requirements.

Update and maintain network logical and physical topology to include Wi-Fi heat maps.

Configure and install new or replacement network hardware including VLAN configuration and routing.

Provide system maintenance, including monitoring logs, backing up configurations.

Manage and maintain servers (physical/VM), databases, appliances, services, and applications hosted at the datacenter that support network management.

QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s and two (2) years or more of related experience. Additional experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Minimum of 1 year ofexperience in a Data Center role involving infrastructure.

In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and DNS.

Hands-on experience with network hardware, including switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls.

Proficient in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, SNMP, and packet analysis.

Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.

Strong understanding of data center best practices.

Familiarity with the use of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and running checklists and remediation of any findings.

Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V, and experience with SDN/NFV concepts is a plus.

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly desired.

Knowledge and familiarity with the Command Line Interface (CLI) used by Cisco devices.

Knowledge and use of Office 365 applications.

Knowledge and use of ServiceNow or similar ticketing system.

Provide on-call support and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

Capable of lifting to 50 lbs. and are agile in manual dexterity (climb, stoop, et.) to rack and stack equipment, as an example, with or without accommodation.

Must be willing to travel when necessary.

Must have a valid drivers’ license.

REQUIRED INFORMATION ASSURANCE CERTIFICATION:

Minimum DoD 8140/8570.01-m IAT Level II certificate (Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)

Must certify IAT Level III certificate (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP) 180 days after hire.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start.

Target salary range: $50,001 - $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
