PETADATA is currently looking to hire a Data Engineer for their team. This is a W2, who is highly capable of and deeply passionate about understanding and translating customer needs into actionable development plans and strong technical and excellent communication and social skills, which can assist in gathering requirements and facilitating conversations and implementing thorough documentation.

Summary: The Sr. Data Engineer is an expert in multiple infrastructure technologies and is responsible for the ongoing operational excellence of the technology environment. The scope of the job includes the development, design and maintenance of inbound data processing and outbound data processing using the tools within the client’s business.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, optimize and support new and existing data models and EL processes based on client’s requirements.
  • Build, deploy and manage data infrastructure that can adequately handle the needs of a rapidly growing data driven organization.
  • Should Be able to establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large dataset analysis, model development, and validation.
  • Ability to support, test, deploy, maintain the AWS ecosystem from an infrastructure standpoint ( Hybrid Cloud SDK upgrade, security fixes etc.).
  • Coordinate data access and security to enable data scientists and analysts to easily access data whenever they need to and maintain the AWS ecosystem from an infrastructure standpoint.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
  • Hands-on experience on Python, Spark, Scala, Hive, as well as database technology Source Code Control, Able to perform data validation, delivery, quality and integrity.
  • Experience in Warehouse: SQL , Amazon Redshift, Trino, Apache Hive, etc.
  • Experience in RDBMs and able to work with databases that power API’s for front-end applications.
  • Should be able to work with modern schedulers (Airflow) and distributed data systems such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Trino etc.
  • Statistics background experience would be preferred.
  • Good to be a constructive communicator and is capable of discussing difficult issues effectively with team members and customers.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or relevant degree is a must.
