You will be responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle (analysis, design, and implementation). You will work closely with peer developers and financial business experts to create and optimize data loading processes for enterprise reporting across the Laboratory. This position is in the Enterprise Application Services Division (EAS), within the Computing Directorate, in support of LivIT.In this role you will- Provide application development and maintenance for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, and implementation.
- Design and maintain ETL processes that load from both data files and other databases.
- Create and optimize SQL queries for reports and applications.
- Analyze project plans and define tasks, duties, and technologies for future releases, and prepare technical documentation.
- Provide end user support and problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Perform all assignments in accordance with ESH&Q, Security, and business practice requirements and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or the equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Experience with formal software engineering methods.
- Broad experience in relational database design and techniques and development methodologies with the ability to understand the benefits and liabilities of various design patterns.
- Experience using SQL.
- Experience developing ETL processes.
- Experience working independently and/or collaboratively as part of a cohesive development team.
- Experience collaborating with multiple customers and organizations simultaneously while effectively managing technical tasks, competing priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively present and explain technical information to others.
