Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a Database Administrator who is proficient at and enjoys solving problems involving multiple layers of complexity. The Database Administrator role is a permanent opportunity and is situated in Ontario, California.Responsibilities- Minimize false alarms by appropriately configuring database monitoring utilities- Baseline system performance and monitor for deviation, recommending and implementing improvements to slow running queries- Advise on database design, tuning options, and other potential issues- Ensure database server topology, configuration, and maintenance are designed and executed to meet SLA objectives- Restore service to databases as outages happen, including after hours and on weekends- Determine the best way to improve performance, whether through hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes- Manage all database instances across development, staging, and production environments, handling installation, configuration, and maintenance Requirements - 5+ years of database experience- Strong knowledge of relational database management systems- Skilled at making improvements to query performance- Monitor Performance experience- Microsoft SQL experience- Computer Databases experience desired- Database development experience preferred- Strong familiarity with Backup Technologies- Understanding of production environments and being on-call- Experience building and maintaining documentation- Storage and server hardware knowledge a plus Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
