Position Summary:

The IT Desktop Engineer II will be primarily responsible for providing world class support to meet our technical business needs. This role will be part of our Desktop Engineering Team, responsible for delivering an outstanding user expierence.

Job responsibilities will include Desktop support, End user support, system and end point/infrastructure configuration, administration and support. This role will also be responsible for systems design/delivery for Guardant Helath.

This role will also be focused on simplifying and improving the end user management. Support responsibilities will be for the local site and remote support of our employees in Redwood City and throughout the US.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extensive expierence with the Mac OSX / Windows 10 desktop systems and an ability to provision and troubleshoot issues with these key end user platforms
  • Deliver weekly status reports tracking KPIs on the health of the environment
  • User evanglist for the tools provided to enable our users
  • Administration of SaaS based tools such as Druva, Okta, Zoom, Office365, Active Directory, Splunk, Box, Google for Business,Jira/Confluence, Github
  • Administration of Mobile Device Management for all corporate Enterprise systems
  • Experience with Device Management tools such as Jamf, Intune, Workspace One
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems such as JIRA, Service Now
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and an attention to process detail which allows individuals working with you to understand the changes, and perform your procedures
  • Virtual cloud and Hybrid Data Center Monitoring and Management: AWS, Jumpcloud, AD, Vmware
  • The ability to provision and configure various Network infrastructure components: Cisco Meraki, Juniper, Brocade
  • Troubleshoot and administer enterprise systems including Active Directory, Exchange online, Zoom and other end point systems.
  • Able to develop and replicate (automate) actions associated with policies of standard operating procedures
  • Lab computer systems and instrument installation support
  • Zoom/Teams Audio-Visual experience

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an agile, fast paced and highly technical environment
  • You are a self-driven person, do not need to be micromanaged, can wear multiple hats and drive tasks and projects to the finish line
  • You have the ability to take on new technologies that are deployed on our end points including security and collaboration tools
  • You are effective in communicating technical and non-technical information across team boundaries
  • You are a team player, committed to the success of your peers and your team
  • You are dedicated to engineering excellence yet pragmatic enough to balance quality principles, regulatory compliance and business needs
  • Your troubleshooting skills are excellent, and you enjoy a good daily challenge in supporting rapid growth and a diverse set of end user needs
  • You have the ability to maintain day to day support while running various key projects that move the business forward by automating and creating new tools that facilitate management of the environment
  • 5-7 years of IT Administration and Support for an environment over 1000 employees

Additional Information

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies, computer peripherals and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
