Job description

Intermex Transportation is seeking skilled heavy-duty bus fleet mechanic of all levels to perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles. Technician job duties are based on skill level and experience which will include: diagnose, inspect, and change or repair defective components, sub-components, and systems on heavy duty motorcoaches. This position will report to the Fleet Maintenance Manager. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities and Duties:

Perform maintenance of company vehicles.

Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability using hand tools and power tools.

Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.

Inspect break systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure buses are in proper operating condition.

Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.

Perform emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support operations

Maintain maintenance records and keep logs of work and report on issues

Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

Diagnose vehicles to determine causes of defective operation of engines, transmissions, differential units, alternators, starters, pumps, air suspension systems, radiators, injectors, air conditioning systems, and other vehicle systems.

Operates heavy machinery, hydraulic lifts, hoists and jacks.

Experience with Cummins Engines, Detroit Engines, Volvo Engines, air brakes, chassis components and vehicle climate controls.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years doing maintenance on motor coaches, trucks, or RV’s

Computer skills to meet job requirements

Ability to be “on-call” on a rotating basis for after hours and/or weekend issues that arise. Capable of diagnosing and solving problems via phone.

Good communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: from: $20/hr - $30/hr depending on experience

Schedule: 8 hour shift

-Day shift

-must work weekends

Wednesday - Sunday

Flexible changing weekdays only
