To continue to grow and meet their commitment they are looking to fill the position of Director, Infrastructure Systems. The Director of Infrastructure systems is responsible for determining current and future enterprise infrastructure needs. Oversees the design and implementation of information systems that support the enterprise infrastructure of the organization. Being a Director of Infrastructure systems means implementing sound Infrastructure (Network, Server, Storage, Security, DBA, Data Center, Virtualization and Cloud) solutions as well as the development and maintenance of the organization's computing/IT environment. The right person must have a bachelor's degree. Additionally, this person will report directly to top level IT leadership within the company. The Infrastructure Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The Director of Infrastructure Systems will direct and guide a team of Network, Server, Storage, Database and Data Center Operations personnel in the operational and strategic support of existing and new IT products in private and public data centers as well as field offices. Specific responsibilities include resource planning, career advising and development for technical services support personnel under their direction. Responsible for managing the installation of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches as well as resolving software related problems related to enterprise applications. The manager works directly with team members and other members of IT to support solutions for all enterprise strategies. Essential Duties:- People Management: Fulfill the career advisor role for highly technical resources across multiple focus areas and provide effective leadership and direction for those resources. Ensure resource assignments are appropriately allocated to align skills and capacity to enterprise priorities. Provide overall vision and direction for the team that promotes a high performing team.
- Technical Management: Responsible for the customer responsiveness and troubleshooting when being made aware of issues affecting enterprise business applications and the network, server, storage, database and data center technologies that support them through advanced alerts and system monitoring. Leads and champions best practices and automating repetitive processes. Project focused, handling multiple sets of priorities from different functional areas. Establish processes and procedures for technical system management.
- Organizational Liaison: Manage and respond to enterprise IT support issues or concerns with other IT departments like Development, PMO, Architecture, and other members of the Technology Services support teams. Escalate concerns to the rest of the IT Organization through leadership.
- Provide Senior leadership with feedback and insight on industry and departmental trends, and vendor relationships
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ year of leadership in an Enterprise IT environment
- IT Management and Leadership Professional Certification or equivalent preferred
- Administration/Management of Microsoft Platforms
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and supporting technologies
- Experience with virtualization technology
- Knowledge regarding management of SAN and NAS solutions
- Experience with Backup and Restore solutions
- Experience with Disaster Recovery planning/exercises
- Performance Monitoring, and alert tools
- NetApp and Pure Storage solutions experience preferred
- Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies preferred
- A broad understanding of IT processes and best practices
- Supervisor or direct staff management experience in IT Technical Services preferred
- A good grasp of the firm's overall business structure, vision, and goals preferred
- A good grasp of the IT structure, vision, and goals preferred
- Capable in collaborating and effectively communicating with both technical and nontechnical users
- Strong problem-solving skills, results orientation and common sense
- Ability to learn new processes, step outside your own comfort zone, and successfully navigate unfamiliar challenges.
