The present facility, a 94,000-square-foot building that anchors a 20-acre medical campus, opened in 1994 after a five-year planning process that included extensive employee and community involvement. The original building was established in 1968 as a for-profit hospital owned by physicians. Sutter Health purchased the hospital in 1981 to ensure residents of Yolo County would continue to have quality medical care into the future. Sutter Davis Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.Sutter Davis Hospital's comprehensive services include a full array of programs designed to serve the diverse needs of the communities it serves. Services include: 24-hour emergency department, obstetrics, surgery, respiratory therapy, intensive care unit, diagnostic imaging, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, occupational health, laboratory and physical therapy.Responsible for the overall strategic focus and operational planning for the activities and resources of the Pharmacy Department. Provides leadership and administrative support in operations, budget planning, and high-cost pharmacy product purchases. Ensures optimal provision and coordination of services and resources and oversees implementation of patient medication safety strategies. Ensures utilization of best practice clinical programs and cost savings initiatives to operations and standardizes processes where appropriate.Job Description :EDUCATION:

Doctorate: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

12 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Possesses knowledge and has expertise in all aspects of hospital pharmacy operations including budgeting, current laws and regulation, basic clinical skills, and being abreast of new developments in drug therapy, technology and current healthcare issues.

Demonstrated ability in healthcare management with experience in management and integration of multiple entities; budget preparation and planning for multiple facilities; development and monitoring of staff productivity systems and quality improvement and establishment of quality standards.

Demonstrated success in major project coordination and implementation of successful best practice clinical programs and cost containment initiatives.

Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).

Leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.

Verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service and achieving business results.
