- JOB OVERVIEW:
- Directs and coordinates development and production activities of the Information Technology department. Provide Technical leadership, vision, and mentoring for IT Operations and IT Software Development teams. This person will be responsible for both IT Operations and Software Development teams.
- JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
- Ability to translate Business needs to sometimes complex technical requirements into functional software using best practices
- Have led IT development teams in .NET/C# and/or other common platform buildouts
- Have led IT operations teams (system/network/applications administration, Helpdesk, systems cyber security, telecommunication, hardware/software procurement, and other IT services)
- Deep understanding of MS SQL operability/applicability
- Knowledge of other functional areas of IT (Operations, Telcom, Security, and PMO)
- 10+ years information systems experience
- 5+ years management experience, (some Director level experience preferred)
- Bachelors Degree in business or technical field required, Master’s degree preferred
- ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversees all development and maintenance support activities of the Information Technology department
- Consults with management to analyze computer system needs for management information and functional operations, to determine scope, feasibility, priorities of projects, to discuss system capacity, equipment acquisitions and strategic planning
- Manages, tracks and reports budget expenditures for the IT department
- Recommends and develops plans for software development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budgets, and staffing
- Directs the development identification, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the organization
- Ensures effective coordination of communication/activities/follow-ups with the Development and Operations teams w/the Project Management Office (PMO)
- Consults with management regarding project specifics and determine requirements, boundaries, and priorities
- Oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, legal and regulatory compliance
- Oversees the managing of computer operations scheduling, backup, storage, and retrieval functions
- Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, maintenance to determine costs and impact and address problems
- Oversees the maintenance and testing of disaster recovery plans
- Develops goals and objectives for the Information Technology Department to support the overall strategy of the company
- Assure effective scheduling of development and operations resources to appropriately support project initiatives/timelines
- Interviews, selects, ensures orientation, training, and when necessary, disciplines and/or discharges departmental personnel
- Effectively manage vendors to maximize value to the Company
