Please note that this is a full time permanent position.This position can be filled at either Pleasanton, CA or Boulder, COMust have working knowledge and great hands-on implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 in addition to a Certified ISO 45001/14001 Internal Auditor plus EH&S experience. Our client is seeking a Director, EH&S will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining company (both Corporate and site) environmental, health and safety programs to ensure continuous compliance with applicable International, Federal, State and local environmental health and safety regulations, including conducting EH&S training and audits at sites globally and sharing best practices.Your responsibilities:• Working closely with local site EH&S Managers to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements and implement regulatory compliance programs with local country statutory and regulatory requirements; • Review and periodically audit respective sites Environmental Health and Safety permits and compliance with respective permit conditions;• Work with local site engineering teams, supply chain and customers to ensure product compliance to EU RoHS, REACH and WEEE Directives;• Work with respective teams to carry out incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions. Analyze incidents trends for sites globally and determine any fundamental underlying root causes;• Provide recommendations of corrective action where EH&S hazards exist;• Interact with all EH&S manager globally to assist with EH&S issues;• Provide training on and where needed perform workplace ergonomics evaluations, safety inspections and on going job hazard analysis;• Work with site to analyze hazardous materials inventory, profile and manifest waste and recycle programs;• Assist in the administration of the sites worker’s compensation program with Human Resources;• Work with respective site to perform safety engineering reviews on existing equipment and new equipment/processes, including new product development, to ensure all applicable EH&S requirements (permits, secondary containment, safety training, etc) are satisfactorily fulfilled prior to implementation as part of change control;• Train managers and employees to ensure that they practice good safety culture and habits through Active Safety: general safety, workplace accident prevention, and personal injury prevention. Primary goal is to enhance global site safety culture;• Conduct ISO14001 and ISO45001 training, implementation and audit to the latest revision. Assist site in the management of Registrar audit;• Implement structured EH&S training programs meeting Federal, State and Local requirements for the nature of the business;• Develop Crisis Management and Escalation communication policy and procedure and roll out globally;• Evaluate the effectiveness of site Emergency Response Programs;• Implement Corporate EH&S initiatives for the all sites;• All other Corporate EH&S initiatives as required.Your requirements:• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in EH&S, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar/ related field with at least ten (10) years of working experience;• Available to travel approx.30% to 40% of the time;• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Access;• Working knowledge and good hands-on implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 (a requirement);• Certified Industrial Hygiene and experience (preferred);• Certified ISO14001 and ISO45001 Internal Auditor (requirement);• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously;• Ability to manage and meet regulatory agency requirements and deadlines;• Good communication skills and ability to work with people of diverse background (requirement);• Working knowledge of environmental legislation including RCRA, DOT 49 CFR, NPDES, MASS DEP permitting, etc. (required);• ERT experience (preferred);• Certified in CPR/First Aids/AED (preferred);• Certification in Hazmat handling, DOT 49CFR, 40 hours Hazwoper and Universal waste (required);• Working knowledge of EU RoHS and REACH and China RoHS (a requirement).Applicants must provide their phone number.
