This position pays between $180,000 and $250,000. Pay for this position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Collaborate with these customers to make their ideas a reality, creating complex automated systems from design to prototype.Be part of a team removing the roadblocks that too often get in development’s way, slowing results.As a member of the seasoned staff, will be given tremendous responsibility and accountability to deliver superior results.Responsible for managing and leading the software development team to ensure technical objectives and schedule milestones are met.Will work directly with customers, program managers, and engineers to convert customer software concepts into documented software requirements. Responsible for all software aspects of a project including, design, staffing, test plans, SQA, schedule and budget, while managing multiple projects with overlapping schedules.

  • Provide budgetary input for new tool software to program managers.
  • Lead and direct team members’ technical work.
  • Assign and monitor work of project staff, providing technical support and direct priorities.
  • Use experience to mentor and coach team members.
  • Develop written software requirements and document tool control architectures.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure the design team is cognizant of software requirements and that the software design has a high probability of compliance to agreed-to requirements.
  • Work with customers to understand their requirements and align software feature and performance expectations.
  • Represent company's software capabilities and strengths from sales through shipment.
  • Work with software developers and consultants to develop project cost estimates and written bids for projects.
  • Create software project plans, manage resources, and monitor timelines to ensure software deliverables meet project objectives.
  • Work with program managers, engineers, and production personnel to resolve tool issues that affect software operation and performance during tool startup and debug.
  • Design software and control architectures for new prototype tools.
  • Write functional software test plans, ensure QA testing is complete and critical bugs are resolved before tools are shipped.
  • Become an application expert in order to guide new tool deployments.
  • Lead and provide hands-on individual contributions.
Required:
  • Demonstrated software management and project planning skills in complex environments.
  • Provide strong technical leadership for the software development team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with PCs, PLCs, Safety PLCs, industrial robots, motor drivers/controllers, communication protocols, machine vision, MES, SECS/GEM.
  • Understanding of source control and software release procedures.
  • Experience developing software for complex manufacturing equipment in areas including semiconductor metrology, solar fabrication, disk drive, or consumer electronics.
  • BA in Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of software management experience.
