Job Summary:Administrative management of the optometry staff in the Southern Regions Permanente Vision Services. Work closely with MSA management, Coordinating Optometrists, and Chief of Ophthalmology to ensure the quality of and access to optometric care and member satisfaction with optometry services. Will continue optometric practice at least 1 day per week.Essential Responsibilities:

Ensure the maintenance of the quality of care provided to members through an ongoing QA program.

Maintain good relationships between optometry, ophthalmology, management, and PVS management.

Implement the new practice models for Optometry in all locations and monitor the effectiveness of these changes.

Work closely with MSA Leadership Teams to plan for needed expansion of services on a proactive basis.

Work in tandem with the PVS Retail Manager to formulate action plans to meet the members, providers and organizations needs.

Develop optometry practice and appointment booking guidelines, to include standard appointment types.

Monitor access performance and identify improvement methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum three (3) years experience within last five years in optometric practice management, e.g. practice model design and scheduling.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

Optometrist License (California)

Additional Requirements:

Excellent presentation skill, both verbal and written.

Willingness to work in a changing environment.

Knowledge of financial management meteorologies.

Experience with leading and producing change.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent management in a retail operation, preferred.
