Become a maker of possible with us.The Medication Management Solutions (MMS) U.S. Region Director of Pricing Strategy and Proposal Analysis is a remote role responsible for establishing new strategic direction and objectives that connects the pricing & profitability function with the management of customer solicited requests for proposal (RFP) and technical requests for information (RFI) to support the sales team and drive business wins. This leader will collaborate with key commercial stakeholders (including finance, sales, contracting and marketing) to proliferate the best practices in pricing corridors, floor pricing, contract compliance, contract approval, etc.to create uniform processes across the region.This role will lead major workstreams to support the development of new gross profit margins opportunities, future product launch strategy and then present up to the most senior leadership at BD. The top candidate will have had proven experience in pricing/proposal business transformation, strong analytics development experience, sales & marketing commercial initiative leadership and enterprise-scale project management background.This position is a flexible remote employee optional role.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes new strategic direction and objectives that connects the pricing & profitability function with the RFP/RFI response effort to inform strategic and tactical selling and marketing strategies, create qualitative and quantitative analysis on business and ensure product performance regionally across all portfolios.

Leads a collaborative team who works closely with finance, marketing, and sales partners to recommend and consult on new pricing strategies to help the business maximize gross margin, minimize price erosion, and manage against macroeconomic shifts.

Leads new gross profit margin initiatives with global influence.

Proactively researches macroeconomic and industry trends that drive a sustainable pricing approach to advance gross margin and maximize revenue and profitability.

Conducts monthly reviews on price performance to budget with key internal stakeholders, generates action plans to execute these strategies and competitive intel.

Leads upstream pricing studies in support of future product releases versus customer capacity, market share and premium pricing required to launch.

Directs RFP/RFI team activities related to the development, planning and scheduling of proposals while ensuring alignment to regional pricing strategies and delivering the MMS value proposition. This will include the direction of this team’s engagement on proposals with senior level internal and external contacts including commercial leaders, sales, business development, upstream/global marketing, production, finance, and contracts.

Establishes and directs partnership with marketing to ensure air cover support of RFP/RFIs.

Navigates team through the innovation and process improvement of our RFP/RFI processes which would include a regular response library refresh, automation of submission/response, and the partnership with technical team members to implement artificial intelligence capabilities to enhance these functions.

Conducts monthly review of RFP/RFI win-loss results with key sales and marketing partners and senior leaders.

Leads a high-impact team of Analysts by driving engagement and support through talent acquisition, team building, career development, coaching, and performance management.

Success in the role requires a self-starter, collaborator that can independently manage/delegate multiple projects from start to finish while continually identifying opportunities to improve processes and storytelling to win and retain business.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:BS / BA in business, marketing, accounting, or finance, MBA Preferred

7 or more years of associate director or director level experience in Pricing or Revenue management preferably in the medical device / pharma industry - could be inclusive of experience in Commercial Management, Finance, Marketing or Sales Operations.

5 or more years RFP/RFI response development or relevant contracting proposal development experience.

5+ years of direct people management experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Experience developing and implementing Pricing strategies, RFP/RFI management, influencing others and driving change management.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in driving pricing and contracting strategy, operations management excellence – including Has owned or worked with a team to manage contract compliance, and to develop new contracting strategies including term implementation.

RFP/RFI workflow optimization and improvement of process predictability.

Understanding of pricing, analytics, contracting life cycle and related tools: CLM, CPQ, Qlik, Vendavo, Salesforce.com, PowerBI is a strong plus.

Loopio or RFP Inquiry system experience a plus.

Financial knowledge of P&L, profitability analysis, and margin/pricing economics decision making.

Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate complex ideas and use networks to acquire relevant information.

Proven ability to adapt and manage effectively in fast paced challenging environment and manage multiple, and oftentimes competing, priorities.

Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal – and active listening skills. Including experience with presenting to senior level leadership up to CEO.

Any artificial intelligence data capture and curation experience is a plus.

Strong analytical skills and ability to manage understand data.

Experience with continuous process improvement or agile process a plus.
