Job Description

The Director, Program Management, is a key leadership role in the PMO team and companywide enterprise shared function. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of program managers who are managing complex, multi-disciplinary core teams to launch products that meet critical unmet needs for cancer patients.

An essential aspect of this role will also be to support the integration of Project Management process improvements and standard tools to establish best practices for continued organizational growth. Experience with IVD or Medical Device product development will be critical to the success of this role to ensure scalability while ensuring compliance to our quality system and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including finance, marketing, regulatory, medical affairs, reagent development and bioinformatics teams, among others. You will also work very closely with the portfolio team to align program scopes, resources and budgets within the portfolio prioritization process. You will be responsible for ensuring successful delivery of the programs and projects under your purview.

Responsibilities:

  • Functionally manage a team of program managers across the company divisions
  • Ensure project priorities and decisions are consistent between teams and corporate strategic plans
  • Communicate program updates to the core teams, to functional management and to executive leadership both internally and externally, if applicable
  • Lead team efforts to mitigate risks and resolve issues quickly as they arise
  • Establish and track Portfolio and Project performance metrics/KPIs
  • Develop and implement best-in-class resource and portfolio management enterprise tools
  • Actively promote continuous learning to improve skills of self and the group
  • Ensure effective communications with the Core Teams using a variety of tools and channels
  • Incorporate the product roadmap into the portfolio process and execute the programs accordingly
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Requires a highly motivated, dynamic and customer-centric leader who thrives in a challenging and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels with and without direct authority.
  • Proven success building employee engagement; creating, communicating, and building understanding of a shared vision.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts and ambiguity to drive clarity and deliver results.
  • Experience navigating self and teams in cross-functional environments and/or matrix organizations.
  • Effective meeting management and group facilitation skills.
  • Position requires the ability to collect information from multiple sources, sort through, integrate, and resolve often conflicting requirements, and drive an organization through the various issues to result in a successful product launch
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall program management, PMP certification preferred

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a business or a technical discipline.
  • An advanced degree in either business or a technical field is desired.
  • Relevant experience of 4 to 7 years with BS/BA and 3-5 years with Masters degree
  • PMP or similar certification is highly desired
