Drafter (CAD) (Locals only)

We are a 10+ years old boutique structural engineering firm in the Bay Area, located in San Francisco. Our CAD specialist is leaving us since she is getting married and moving to New York this summer.

We are looking for a local designer/CAD specialist to replace her and help us with our projects. Position is ready to start in April but May 1st at the latest because we would like the new candidate to get used to the tasks and come up to speed before our CAD specialist leaves.

The position requires the following:

- Proficient in AutoCAD in 2D plans (a must) as a drafter.

- Being able to do site visits to do as-built drawings of buildings (mostly wood-frame residential houses/buildings).

- Work from home. Capability to work on his/her own, remotely, flexible hours, make your own schedule.

- Offered position is full time, not part time. 40 hrs/week.

- Being able to go to the Building Departments and submit plans for permits.

The main tasks will be measuring buildings to do as-built drawings, doing site visits for inspections, working on projects in CAD, going to the building department to handle permitting (submitting plans, etc).

The position is hourly base and the compensation ranges from $50-60/hr + bonuses (adds up to 10% of yearly salary), depending on the candidate/the experience.

THE MUST - Meeting deadlines, being professional and having good communication skills! You make your own schedule and can work from home BUT we expect you to be a responsible professional and finish the projects/tasks on time.
