Draftsperson/Architect Needed for Preliminary Survey of ADU & Modular

We are currently seeking a skilled draftsperson or architect to conduct a preliminary survey for the placement of a modular Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and modular home on potential client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the feasibility of ADU and modular home placement on various properties and producing preliminary design sketches, ensuring design and construction compatibility.

Responsibilities:

Conduct on-site visits to potential client locations to assess the feasibility of ADU and modular home placement.

Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for ADU and modular home design and placement.

Produce preliminary design sketches and layout options for ADU and modular home placement, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Provide expert recommendations on optimal ADU and modular home placement based on site conditions and client requirements.

Communicate effectively with clients to present survey findings and design proposals, incorporating any requested modifications.

Prepare and submit preliminary plans to the relevant city authorities for review and approval.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a draftsperson or architect, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous residential design projects.

In-depth knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permit requirements.

Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients and city officials.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in designing and permitting ADUs or similar residential structures.

Familiarity with modular construction techniques and prefabricated building systems.
