Ecommerce Buyer

The Opportunity: The Ecommerce Buyer / Merchandising Specialist will support Mattel’s Direct-to-Consumer Buying + Planning team in identifying, sourcing and purchasing quality products for our DTC websites. This position will help plan, develop, and execute product plans to achieve internal sales goals and support broader brand marketing efforts via compelling collections of product. The role will actively collaborate with cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Marketing, Franchise, Consumer Products, Brand, Product Development, Legal, etc. to ensure the best catalog and site experience possible. This creative individual should have experience with licensing, brand management and vertically integrated retail.What Your Impact Will Be: Develop and manage a robust pipeline of consumer products across multiple categories including: fashion, accessories, houseware, toys, home & office, etc.Define and maintain product inventory levels, track sales and determine product discontinuance timelineCollaborate with procurement and logistics to secure new vendors, process purchase orders and liaise with quality assurance and customer serviceCollaborate with brand, franchise and consumer products teams to identify relevant brands, artists, designers distributors, licensees, and personalities for the Mattel catalogLeverage professional network and acumen to build a culturally diverse roster of brand partners, collaborations, and product initiativesWork in tandem with the Merchandising group to track and coordinate sale of product, marketing assets, and cross-promotional synergies with partnersProvide insights to optimize selling through various channels (social commerce, marketplace, DTC, live streaming, etc.)Work in tandem with the broader DTC Buying + Planning team to analyze sales demand and current trends to anticipate future product needs and devise a merchandise planUse sales and site analytics to understand and improve sales performance, and gather consumer insights and feedback to adjust and improve future offeringsHelp define and manage new Print-on-Demand partners and Dropship initiatives
