Marians offers Santa Maria Valley residents access to the most advanced technologies an expanded and enhanced Emergency Department Critical Care Unit neonatal intensive care unit and an array of womens services.ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of a registered nurse, or licensed vocational nurse, performs assigned care to patients of all ages, assists patients with activities of daily living, provides comfort measures, performs unit support activities, such as transporting, stocking unit and cleaning work areas. Reports observations regarding patient status to the registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse. Unit Clerk/Monitor Monitor Observer duties include, observing and recognizing and reporting cardiac arrhythmia, and operating central monitoring equipment. Can serve as a unit receptionist, can transcribe orders, and can order tests using computer system. Assembles, maintains and files the Emergency Department Medical Record according to Department Policy and procedure. Emergency Department Technicians may be assigned other duties in addition to the major responsibilities listed here. Employees are responsible for the completion of unit competency checklist, annual Safety Review, CPR and renewal of certificates (when applicable) by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
CNAs / EMTs without acute care experience will be considered on an individual basis.
Current CNA, EMT, or valid Paramedic License.
Approved CPR certification. BLS.
Preferred Requirements:
Acute Care experience preferred.
