Title – Electric EngineerLocation – San Ramon CA (Onsite) The Hardware System Engineer will be on a team developing a system to help monitor our extensive service territory of environmental risks. Under general supervision, this individual will apply their expertise to define system requirements, and bring together mechanical and electrical requirements to design, prototype, and oversee the build of control panels, wire harnesses, battery storage systems, and accompanying hardware components.QualificationsMinimum- BS in General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Ability to troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve issues; hands-on experience
- Experience working on or designing an industrial low voltage control panel – power supply sizing, wire harness design, part layout and selection
- Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together to make design and development decisions
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting various electronic sensors and components
- Experience developing system architectures and managing requirements
- Experience designing, drafting, and building wiring harnesses; knowledge of harness component selection, EMI shielding strategies
- Working experience with electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Fast-paced, flexible, adaptable – comfortable balancing competing priorities and timelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- MS in Engineering with knowledge in electronics, control systems, and automation
- Control panel and battery storage system design
- Fluent with CAD software
