- Support various activities of the NPI process for transition into manufacturing
- Design and build fixtures for manufacturing sub-component testing
- Design of AC/DC/Digital electrical systems, subsystems, board layouts, cables, and cable harnesses
- Perform hands-on engineering tests, and collect, analyze, and present data to manufacturing teams
- Document designs for production release
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational methods in the manufacturing of sub-assemblies
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and 8D problem solving as needed
- Work with manufacturing personnel to investigate, troubleshoot, and correct manufacturing, documentation, and component problems as they arise
- Utilize the Engineering Change Order system for business unit traceability
- Support the internal and external quality process and corrective actions
- Reduce production labor and material cost while improving efficiency and utilization
- Review End of Life (EOL) electrical components/design and provide updated electrical designs incorporating currently available components
- Work with outside suppliers on outsourcing activities
- Troubleshoot complex electrical subsystems and develop standard guides to help the floor with troubleshooting steps
- Support project planning by defining scope and tasks, and estimating effort and cost for product and feature development on a range of equipment platforms
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, travel may vary, but will average 10-15%
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, other engineering/technical disciplines will be considered
- Ability to understand and work with schematics, assembly drawings, and BOMs
- PCB fab and PCBA design and test, with troubleshooting experience is desired
- Capable of using lab equipment, DVM, oscilloscope
- Capable of using OrCAD or other modeling software
- Experience in debugging electrical and mechanical problems
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working and supporting manufacturing
- Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries or complaints from customers, suppliers, and peers
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, management, manufacturing, and peers
