Maxar is currently seeking a motivated Electrical Spacecraft Test Engineer for our San Jose or Palo Alto office who will be part of a team responsible for the assembly, integration, and test of highly ambitious programs. The ideal candidate will excel in a demanding and fast-paced environment where they will work as part of a strong, agile and highly motivated team to accomplish one of the most ambitious programs being attempted at Maxar today. This individual takes pride in his/her thoroughness, analytical ability, organizational skills and attention to detail. The candidate will also provide guidance and engineering direction to technicians and program team in accordance with the Spacecraft Manager's schedule. Additionally, the ideal candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams from multiple subsystems, provide engineering direction, coordinate production engineering processes, and perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime. They will provide DFx (Design for X, test, safety, cost, etc.) support by developing process improvements and cost reduction initiatives to effectively perform assembly, integration and test processes while maintaining high quality standards. Job Description:- Manage space vehicle integration and test operations
- Lead investigations into anomalous space vehicle behavior
- Work hands-on with flight hardware at build, test and launch sites
- Interface with engineers and technicians from many disciplines to optimize proposed designs for integration, testing, and manufacturability
- Specify and drive creation of representative hardware-in-the-loop test systems or system simulators to support software development and system verification and validation
- Create test plans, templates and strategies for block and system level tests, to test integrated solutions for both function and performance
- Write scripts using common scripting languages such as Python or Tcl
- Prepare reports documenting test results, test coverage and other KPI metrics, and communicate issues effectively with developers and managers
- Keep abreast of latest advances in test and automation practices
- Must = or permanent resident
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field. Four years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience writing test plans, procedures, and providing operational support to cross-functional teams
- Hands-on experience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
- Experience in setting up testbeds and executing test plans
