Electrician - Temporary position, full-time, up to 6 months

Residential Operations

Summary of Job Duties:

Performs skilled electrician tasks for University-owned housing and its related buildings at on and off-campus locations and may be assigned other duties (including those in other craft areas) to accomplish the operational needs of the department. Professional Expectation/Attitude Standard/Customer Service: Promotes Customer service programs in the custodial services unit to residence/clients.

Minimum Requirements:

4-6 years of experience working at a journeyman level as an electrician in commercial & residential environments. Ability to read & interpret blueprints. Thorough knowledge of the NEC & the California Electrical code. Demonstrated experience installing & troubleshooting various building automation & control systems. Ability to work in an ethnically diverse & culturally pluralistic team environment. Excellent interpersonal & customer service skills. Understanding of safety practices & Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Preferred:

Work experience in a University Housing environment. Experience working as an electrician in commercial kitchens. Experience troubleshooting & repairing building automation systems, including direct digital controls, access control systems & theft & fire alarm systems. Experience with photovoltaic electric systems.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check, required to hold a valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.

Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm

Full-time, temporary/limited position of 6 months
