Embedded WLAN Firmware Engineer for Global Semiconductor company in San Jose, CA.

Summary:The candidate will be part of the team working on WLAN firmware development.The team focuses on three areas of firmware development:

Work in the Wi-Fi LAN’s programs which participate in the spec development, testing.

Work on the chip bring up, dial up remote. Closely working with the systems and hardware team to bring up new chips.

Software maintenance and enhancement - Improving the architecture.

Responsibilities:

Work on C programming and Python.
Firmware development and the related tools which is mainly python make files etc.

Design, develop, test, and maintain WLAN firmware and support tools.
This includes Embedded C and Python programming.
Develop and maintain WLAN firmware features and participate in Wi-Fi alliance compliance events.
Python3 development to enhance both internal and customer-facing tools and systems software performance profiling and optimizations.

Requirements

1-5 years of systems software and tools development experience (junior to mid-level)
Networking concepts, networking standards, and the networking stack knowledge

Desired skillsets

BSCS (MSCS preferred)
Acquaintance with Wi-Fi-related standards and technologies.
Experience with network device drivers and firmware development.
Experience with complex makefile-based build systems.
Familiar with Visual Basic and VB Script
Experience with Cloud service, Kubernetes, dockers, JavaScript etc. Not required but nice to have.
