Engineering Technician 1 for our direct client.Location: Sunnyvale, CADuration: 6 MonthsEstimated pay range: $28.00- $37.04 an hour per client contract and candidate skills, experience and work location. Description- The Future Forward group within our clients is searching for a Mechanical Engineering Technician with a focus on the mechanical design of next generation catheters and instruments.

- The Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting a team of mechanical engineers developing new products at our clients.
- The ideal candidate will be proficient in most typical catheter and instrument manufacturing processes.
- The candidate should be comfortable working with limited supervision, and with minimal work instructions and be able to take ideas and instruction from R&D engineers to build and test functional catheter and instrument prototypes.
- A strong sense of integrity, care, and attention to detail is required as well as a commitment to developing products of the highest quality.
- Assisting with all aspects of early prototype builds; inspection of materials and subassemblies, rework of components, manual processing, assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Assembling prototypes per engineering design/instructions
- Assist engineers to fabricate and modify components using standard prototyping and manufacturing equipment.
- Debugging and performance testing of engineering prototypes
- Collecting, recording, and reporting bench test results.
- Ability to learn and execute basic laboratory tests per procedures and document results.
- Informing prototype test/assembly fixtures, and providing input for the design of fixtures
- Providing input for protocols and reports for engineering studies
- Setup, organization, and maintenance of engineering lab and equipment
- Documenting assembly procedures and training other technicians on assembly. Assisting in knowledge transfer to other groups / teams.
- Minimum 5 years' experience supporting a mechanical engineering group in a product development organization
- Minimum Associate of Science degree, or equivalent work experience
- Hands-on skills and knowledgeable in prototyping and manufacturing methods; including microscope-aided assembly, typical catheter/instrument assembly equipment, soldering, and adhesive bonding.
- Manual dexterity to assemble small components, with microscope or similar magnification
- Ability to inspect components using metrology equipment (including calipers, micrometers, vision systems)
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office required.
