Details:Rate: Upto $50/hr on W2Job Title: Engineering Technician/NPD Lab CoordinatorLocation: Sunnyvale, CA The NPD Lab Coordinator and Technician will support design engineers to build, test and characterize new prototypes. The ideal candidate will have excellent organization and time management skills, be proficient in design, manufacturing, and testing processes. They must excel in a highly motivated team environment focused on cutting edge technology and possess exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders. The candidate should be resourceful with a ‘can do’ attitude and comfortable working with minimal supervision and work instructions. Roles & Responsibilities: • Manage lab resources, computers, organization, layout, supplies, and equipment• Assist with all aspects of prototype builds of instruments and generators including design, build, test, rework, maintenance, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade• Manage equipment calibration• Maintain and organize the advanced energy lab space and equipment• Coordinate activities with internal and outside suppliers to ensure delivery of equipment and components for prototyping• Design and build fixtures or tools as necessary for prototyping, test, and assembly• Prepare instruments and generators for pre-clinical labs• Assist engineers with drawing updates and change order preparation• Provide input and feedback for the design of test and assembly fixtures• Organize, oversee, and collaborate with other groups to assemble and test prototypes Skills, Experience, Education, & Training: • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail• Effective verbal and written communication skills• Manual dexterity to assemble very small components, either with microscope or other magnification• Ability to perform prototype testing per written protocol or verbal instruction• Experience with soldering, electrical / small mechanical assembly, and component-level electronics debug and repair• Hands-on experience building mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, or equipment, with some electrical or pneumatic assembly• Experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies• Ability to perform mechanical fabrication using machine and hand tools• Ability to understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings• Ability to perform functional testing and failure analysis to a component level• Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Linux based apps, ability to learn to navigate internal computer systems
