Merrick’s Garage is a fast-growing restomod and fabrication shop specializing in high-end builds of classic Chevy square bodies. Our reputation is built on craftsmanship, creativity, and doing things the right way every single time. We’re looking for an experienced automotive technician who takes pride in their work, moves quickly, and has a bias toward action. If you love solving problems, building cool things, and working in a shop where quality comes first and foremost, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Do

- Work on frame-off builds, engine swaps, suspension systems, wiring, and fabrication support

- Produce extremely high-quality work—our customers trust us with their dream trucks

- Take ownership of projects and push work forward without waiting to be told

- Collaborate closely with James and the team on all phases of a build

What We’re Looking For

- Significant hands-on experience as a mechanic (experience matters more than a résumé)

- Proven ability to move fast while maintaining high craftsmanship

- Strong problem-solver who doesn’t get stuck—bias toward action

- High attention to detail and pride in producing top-tier work

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop

- Strong skills in minor fabrication, fit and finish, and mechanical work.

- Must be able to MIG weld; TIG a plus

- Experience with LS and LT engine swaps (a major plus)

- Solid knowledge of restomod parts and modern upgrades

- Ability to assist with daily shop operations and workflow management

- Electrical/wiring experience

- Reliability, punctuality and professionalism

- Must be local to the Goleta/Santa Barbara area
