Busy shop in Hawthorne looking for experienced automotive Painter - 15+ years experience minimum.

Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must speak English and have a valid California Driver's License .

JOB SUMMARY:

Candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair, painting, and restoration, with the ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing vehicles for painting, applying paint and finishes, and ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning

Apply primer, base coats, clear coats, and finishing touches

Prepare color tint to match paint color; Mix paint colors, and ensure all formulations, preparations, top coating and curing meet OEM recommended standards for proper application sequence, timing, and materials usage

Conduct buffing, polishing, and detailing to achieve a flawless finish

Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency

Collaborate with team members to complete repairs within scheduled timeframes

Assist in prep work when necessary

Ensure that all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician

Ensure paint area (prep station, paint booth, etc.) and paint mix/storage rooms are clean and all refinish products are stored as directed.

General maintenance of paint booths.

Help with reassembly of vehicle replace final moldings, trim and detail pieces.

Utilize all required safety equipment and follow proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA and shops safety guidelines. Wear and use required safety equipment (respirator, eye and skin protectors), handle and dispose of hazardous waste properly.

Attend daily release meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Prior professional automotive painting and refinishing process experience required.

Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal

Maintain clean, orderly, and organized work area

Perform other related duties as assigned

Ability to receive direction and work well with others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Essential physical requirements include:

Ability to stoop, bend and kneel, squat, kneel and pulling

Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping

Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs)

Standing, sitting and walking

Performing repetitive motions

Visual acuity for color matching
