The Electric Operations - Solution/Infrastructure group has the responsibility working with the IT group to support the Grid Technology portfolio (including the Advanced Destitution Management System (ADMS), DERMS Platform and Remote/Micro Grid platforms) needs for growth in terms of infrastructure and solutions to new functionalities for the platforms. These distribution platforms not only control the distribution of power to PGE's customers but to promote/provide the use of its information to many of PGE organizations which will provide better reliability and service to PGE's customer and help these organization achieve their business goals and priorities.Position SummaryThe Grid Technology Expert Solution Architect will primarily focus on providing architectural leadership in driving out new solutions to support not only the Software/Business teams, but to build and new compliance technologies from the IT or Cyber security standards.PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.A reasonable salary range is:Bay Area Minimum: $129,000.00Bay Area Mid-point: $168,000.00Bay Area Maximum: $207,000.00&/ORCalifornia Minimum: $123,000.00California Mid-point: $160,000.00California Maximum: $197,000.00This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need.Responsibilities:Primary responsibilities include:- Solution Design and Road mapping: Works in partnership with a program manager to orchestrate the architecture design and is accountable for the overall technical quality of the ADMS Platform. Follows the IT Methodology, producing, contributing to, and providing signoffs on deliverables (including architecture/design documents) as defined. Manage and govern the technical solutions across the portfolio of projects within the Power Distribution Platform
- Standards and Governance: Participates in the governance processes as defined by the PG&E architecture practice. Ensuring data governance and metadata standards alignment for the Distribution Management platform.
- Provides planning and assist in execution of the Grid Platform, including collaborating with IT and Cyber partners and Business partners, and driving products and features from concept to launch in an agile environment.
- Gathering and prioritizing functional requirements and translating into product infrastructure and integration requirements.
- Leading the product functional infrastructure design process, identifying silos of technologies within the organization, and establishing a lean ingestion methodology.
- Ensuring sprint backlog for assigned products and executing all internal and external system interfaces
- Turn data into products and insights with actionable outcomes ensuring product value and ongoing innovations that support PG&E's mission of safety.
- Working with key business partners to ensure org. planning, data acquisition, standards, QA, and Business/Vendor access.
- Identifying issues and managing risk to the enterprise.
- Actively seeking out the best-in-class infrastructure solutions, vendor partners, and associated tools.
- Oversee physical hardware design and ensure software can function within new platform
- Ensure integration of new interfaces are compliant to PGE IT and Cyber standards.
- Working with various groups to provide architectural support where needed.
- Providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to non-architect technical staff.
- Ensuring quality assurance practices and standards are utilized through all development process and that teams are following technical Agile practices and driving towards continuous improvement.
- Continuously working with cross functional team members, program manager, Business stakeholders, and Senior Management to influence strategic goals and decisions.

- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- 7 years in IT
- 4 years of solution architecture or project implementation experience
- Expert in the solution architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
- Process design, information modeling and / or system solution architecture development with project or portfolio focus in at least one of the following: Application Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) or integration delivery, Information Architecture, Security, or Infrastructure technologies
- Familiar with Dell/EMC technologies including PowerEdge, VxRails, Avamar/Data Domain, RP4VM, Avamar/Data Domain, PowerMax and PowerStore products
- Familiar with VMware technologies, ESXi, vCenter, vROPS
- Familiar with F5 Load Balancers and Palo Alto Firewalls
- Experience with integration of monitoring tools
- Experience providing direction to design and engineering staff
- Experience providing direction to one or more architects/engineers
- Exposure to a process improvement discipline (e.g. Six Sigma) used within a technology supported business process implementation
- Operational support for applications, systems, or infrastructure
- 5-12 years' experience working in the Utility industry
- 3-10 years' experience as a Solution Architect working with an ADAM products
- Experience driving out resolutions of integrate problems that include complex software/infrastructure and producing root cause analysis reports, risk assessments, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Familiar with PGE methodology of delivery (ITM) and it's artifacts
- Well experienced with the use of MS project
- Experience with enterprise architecture tools
