As the Shafter team is small, the farm manager actively and equally contributes to the development of a positive culture on the site.As a Farm Manager, You Create Chemistry By
Managing all aspects in the execution of efficient crop management
Monitoring and managing the people involved in crop management on the Farm
Procuring seasonal/contracted labor needed for execution
Ensuring that Site and Farm protocols and work practices conform to global EHS, BASF Responsible Care implementation standards, Hygiene and Stewardship policies, and local laws and regulations
Ensuring all safety and hygiene procedures are followed and providing specific input in the development of future protocols and procedures, managing their implementation
Managing the maintenance and acquisition of resources related to Shafter site infrastructure and equipment
Managing OpEx and CapEx budget and capacity planning and scheduling with Farm users in Breeding, Research, Operations, and Marketing & Sales, proactively developing efficiencies and communicating gaps
Taking responsibility for timely and quality execution of all HR processes, continuous professional development of staff, and ensuring successions for key positions.
If you have
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing Agriculture Crop Growing operations, or
High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience managing Agriculture Crop Growing operations.
Experience in full spectrum farm management and crop growing practices, along with the ability to lead and develop a team.
Relevant understanding and implementation of EHS principles, oversight, and regulations.
Demonstrated experience with financial and accounting practices, with a strong financial acumen.
Strong work force management and logistical planning ability.
Fluent in English, with fundamental Spanish language skills preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of digital farming aspects.
