Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Field Technician with experience in CAT6 cabling to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting CAT6 data cables for a variety of commercial and residential projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, route, and secure CAT6 network cables in ceilings, walls, and floors.

Terminate CAT6 cables with RJ45 connectors and punch-downs into patch panels and jacks.

Perform cable testing, labeling, and documentation to industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA).

Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and company policies.

Maintain tools, equipment, and worksite cleanliness.

Coordinate with project managers, electricians, and other trades on job sites.

Provide exceptional customer service and represent the company professionally.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.

Proven experience installing and terminating CAT6 or similar data cabling (1+ years preferred).

Familiarity with cable testing tools (Fluke, etc.) and proper cable installation practices.

Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Site Survey Technician:

Job Description:

Interface with customers, property managers, and WiLine’s sales department to schedule site surveys for new sales leads and existing customers.

Preform site surveys to determine the exact placement of the network equipment and cable path within buildings.

Create drawings that accurately detail the installation plans for upcoming installations.

Assist WiLine’s Real Estate department with information and/or revisions throughout the approval process.

Work with third party vendors to obtain quotes and schedule work when required.

Provide additional information and assistance to the installation technicians during the installations.

Requirements:

Ability to satisfactorily accomplish multiple tasks

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and to adjust to changing schedules and priorities.

Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

Must possess a valid California driver's license and be able to drive to/from the WiLine Networks office, job sites, suppliers, etc. as needed in either a personal or company supplied vehicle.

Proficient in Internet related applications such as email clients, and web browsers.

Must be able to effectively execute duties with minimum direction.

Must be able to work well with others, and to concisely document and explain customer specific issues.

Valid driver’s license.
