Financial Analyst

Description Robert Half is seeking skilled candidates for a Financial Analyst position at a thriving company in the Retail industry. Are you looking for work as a Financial Analyst? In this position, you would have the opportunity to become a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This person will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. You will be expected to advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is a short-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity and is located in the San Francisco, California, area.How you will make an impact

Watch over annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations

Manage monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

Work with contacts in Accounting and Operations to support business plans

Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

Flexible individual that feels comfortable operating under high expectations while dealing with a large amount of information- Assemble and overview forecasting reports

Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support Requirements - Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred

Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)

Monthly Accruals experience highly desired

Knowledge of forecasting & modeling

Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred

Adeptness in Monthly Forecasts

Budget forecasting experience

Strong familiarity with Month-end Financial

Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Variance
