Marians offers Santa Maria Valley residents access to the most advanced technologies an expanded and enhanced Emergency Department Critical Care Unit neonatal intensive care unit and an array of womens services.ResponsibilitiesThe Financial Counselor is responsible for facilitating a positive patient experience through friendly coordination and advocacy in terms of obtaining financial clearance, identifying eligibility for admission to MECC, managing patient/resident personal banking accounts in conjunction with the patient/resident during the patient's stay in the facility. Duties include calculation of patient liabilities, completion of the admission agreement, and managing personal funds on site as well as anticipating and responding to other non-clinical needs of patients and their families. Participates in keeping medical records organized and stored as required.Qualifications

Understanding of health insurances.

Able to communicate with an older population.

Must be able to adjust to various software systems.

Background in SNF/ medicare expectations.

Financial background related to health insurances preferred .

Familiarity with word/ excel for report preparation.

High school graduate/or GED.

Accounting/business classes desired.
