Fire Protection Engineer (0-2 Years)

Come work with a team of engineering professionals dedicated to excellence at Coffman Engineers’ Downtown Los Angeles office.We are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with zero to two years’ experience to support our Fire Protection Engineering Department in providing our clients with automatic suppression system design; fire detection, alarm and mass notification system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.  The ideal candidate should have a desire to work and grow as a team player within our Fire Protection department.Essential Duties:Computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, simple graphics, fire dynamic simulation, and a working knowledge of computer aided drafting.Managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients while utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations.Performing research and documenting for internal and external distributionAnalysis of existing fire protection systems; design new fire protection systems including suppression systems, fire detection, fire alarm and mass notification systems.Building and fire code analysis and interpretationProject management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client needs.This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
