The Opportunity:

Mattel is looking for a Firmware Engineer I to help us develop the foundation of a variety products that are part of Mattel’s Connected Product vision. It is an opportunity to work with the latest connected devices and hardware as well as with a sophisticated platform that will process large amounts of data per second.

The Firmware Engineer will work as a key member of the firmware team working on both OS based (Linux / FreeRTOS / TI RTOS) hardware platforms as well as non-OS based hardware platforms. The Staff Firmware Engineer will take high level direction from the Firmware Team Lead, designing and then coding firmware and firmware SDKs for use in the Mattel Connected Product lines.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Embedded system development
  • Embedded Linux
  • Embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS, TI-RTOS, etc)
  • Familiarity with encryption techniques (AES, DHEC, SSL, Public/Private Keys, JWT, Digital Signatures)
  • C / C programming
  • Low level Linux driver development
  • Python programming
  • Mobile app development
  • ARM development
  • Familiar with WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Familiar with various sensors (accelerometers, gyro-meters, air quality, temperature, humidity, ambient light, etc)

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • 0-3years embedded development experience
  • Familiarity with Git (GitHub / GitLab)
  • Familiarity with Jenkins
  • C / C programming
  • Python programming
  • Working knowledge of BLE and WiFi
  • BSEE or BS Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience
