Job DetailsMUST live in Northern or Southern CaliforniaWe are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide consulting services requiring electrical engineering expertise for insurance, legal, industrial and other clients.The candidate will assess and determine the cause and origin of electrical failures and damages, as well as provide oral and written reports of findings and when needed, provide expert testimony.The candidate may be responsible for project management and technical oversight of multiple projects. Additionally, the candidate will evaluate and review design and field engineering changes, ensure work quality and adherence to specifications, and perform related duties as assigned.Perform forensic assignments within the field of electrical engineering based upon a scope of work and budget prepared by the consultant and agreed upon by the client in advance of performing the work.Field Investigations Study and determine the cause and origin of electrical defects and/or damage.Support fire investigation experts to determine electrical causes.Produce written forensic reports of findings detailing the cause and origin of electrical defects and/or damage.Follows land use laws and regulations and ensures compliance with electrical code regulations and standards.Assists with junior-level engineer mentoring/integration program.Ability to initiate, develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.

Required Education And CertificationsBS Electrical Engineering5+ years' experienceElectrical Forensic experience a mustDeposition and/or trial experience highly preferred

Physical Demands - Work is performed both in an office setting and at outside field locations (i.e. Client's office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to walk through fire-damaged properties (i.e. commercial and residential) for full and proper assessment of electrical-related damage. Employee is also required to stand, walk on slope roofs, sit, climb ladders, bend, climb inside attics and crawl under homes and tunnels, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking and interacting with clients, preparing written reports of findings, and testifying in deposition or trial. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
