LOOKING TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE?
Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding things you can do. At Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue, we save dogs from high-risk shelters before they’re euthanized and place them into loving foster homes while they wait for their forever families.
We’re a fully foster-based rescue – we don’t have a facility, so we can’t save more dogs unless we have more fosters.
Right now, we urgently need kind, reliable fosters in the LA area for the amazing dogs below:
URGENTLY SEEKING FOSTERS FOR:
PONCHO – Intelligent. Loyal. One of a Kind.
Breed: Husky/Shepherd Mix | Age: 4.5 years
Personality: Super smart, independent, and affectionate on his terms
Needs: A foster from Aug 24–Sept 1, and long-term after
Great With: Selective Medium to large dogs, pending meet and greet (not small dogs or cats)
Challenges: Has separation anxiety; needs a calm, structured home and a foster who works from home or has time to exercise and supervise
Bonus: Not a cuddler—but a deeply rewarding companion for the right person. Has had some skin/eye sensitivities; currently stable.
“Poncho is sweet and smart, but not for beginners. He’s a true working dog brain with a big heart and a quirky soul.”
AXEL – Goofy, Loving & Ready to Learn
Breed: Lab/Aussie/Shepherd Mix | Age: 4 years
Personality: High-energy, affectionate, athletic
Great With: Other dogs, leash trained, potty trained
Needs: A foster ASAP who can continue working with him and commit to training support (we provide guidance!)
Challenges: Mouthy/playful when overstimulated; separation anxiety; not ideal for first-time dog people
“He just needs someone who won’t give up on him. Axel is smart, responsive, and desperate for consistency and care.”
BROWNIE – Senior Sweetheart in Crisis
Breed: Lab/German Shepherd Mix | Age: 13 years
Personality: Gentle, mellow, sweet-natured
Great With: People and calm environments
Needs: Urgent foster by 8/16 – recovering from medical treatment
Challenges: Needs to be the only pet in a home; reactive on leash; prone to allergies and stress when moved around too often
Medical: Stable. On some light medication, all provided by us
“Brownie is housebroken, loving, and just wants to nap near his person. He deserves to rest in a home, not a kennel.”
