Position Summary
Kurated Kitchens(https://kuratedkitchens.com/) is seeking a Front of House Team Member (Barista & Expo) to join our team. In this role, you’ll prepare specialty coffee and beverages, support smooth food service as an expeditor, and deliver an excellent guest experience. Responsibilities
- Provide support to fellow team members to ensure smooth service.
- Work with a team-first mindset by supporting others, receiving feedback with openness, and approaching learning as part of daily growth.
- Deliver excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Take customer orders, process transactions, and answer guest questions clearly and helpfully.
- Prepare and serve coffee, teas, and specialty beverages to quality standards.
- Act as expeditor by verifying food presentation and order accuracy, ensuring timely service.
- Run food and beverages to guests, coordinating smoothly with the kitchen team.
- Support catering orders as needed (packing, organizing, and ensuring accuracy).
- Monitor inventory of beverages, supplies, and packaging; assist with restocking, deliveries, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
- Conversational English skills required, with the ability to take orders, answer guest questions, and communicate effectively with team members.
- No prior experience required — we provide training for the right candidate.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail when preparing beverages and verifying food presentation and order accuracy.
- Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods; able to bend/crouch to access supplies and lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
- California Food Handler’s Card, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions consistently.
Preferred but not required
- Previous experience in food service, barista, or restaurant roles.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems (i.e. Toast).
- Spanish speaking
Schedule & Pay
- This position is part-time, averaging 30–35 hours per week.
- Typical schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm; Tuesday & Friday: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm (with flexibility to start later)
- Compensation: $19.00-$21.00 per hour plus pooled tips.
