Full Time Kennel Attendant

As a Veterinary Kennel Attendant, you will be responsible for delivering first-class care to our boarding guests, including dogs, cats, and the occasional pocket pet or reptile. Along with feeding and exercising pets, you will get to know each pet individually, and help keep an eye out for signs of illness. Daily animal care duties also include bathing and lightly grooming pets, administering medications and assisting Veterinarians and Technicians with procedures as needed. This position also maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the hospital with general janitorial responsibilities for laundry, garbage, dishes, sweeping, mopping, yard work, etc. This position requires professional, yet personal, daily communications with clients on the status of their animal family member and the belief that the honor of being trusted with animal family members means everything to you.

Qualifications

Experience which demonstrates strong dog and cat handling skills and comfort around animals of all sizes and temperaments

Skills for working with computers, and for providing terrific customer service to clients

Excellent cleaning skills in creating a sparkling environment and have considerable attention to detail

Honest and dependable personality traits

Work habits for working independently and part of a team, to multi-task and pay attention to detail

Physical abilities to lift 40+ pounds, stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time

Availability for flexible scheduling and working weekends

Experience:

This is an entry level position. Animal Care experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right person.
