Furry Friends Resort - Full Time Kennel Assistant Needed

Job Overview

Furry Friends Resort in Santee, CA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing care for animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their safety, health, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals (dogs and cats) and the ability to handle various breeds and sizes with confidence. We are looking for a new full time team member who has flexible availability. Employee schedules fluctuate based off of the needs of the resort and the animals in our care.

Duties

Provide loving care for dogs and cats, including feeding, medicating, bathing, and exercising.

Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.

Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.

Supervising dog playgroups.

Handle lifting associated with moving animals or cleaning equipment.

Support pet grooming activities as required.

Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' well-being.

Skills

Ability to perform lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care.

Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a pet care role is preferred but not required for the right applicant.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, clients and the animals in our care.

Scheduling reservations, answering phones, check ins and check outs, taking payments and addressing emails.

A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their welfare.
