Garment Developer - Women's Woven's TopsSan Francisco CA3 Months (Possible extension depending on business needs and performance) Collaborate with Design to ensure fit, balance, and Aesthetics throughout the pre-production process within the calendar deadline.

  • Creation and maintenance of patterns and tech packs from development to bulk production in PLM.
  • Experienced in pattern making, grading, draping, materials, trims, garment fit, garment construction, and manufacturing.
  • Oversee in-house fit block development process from pattern conception to approval.
  • Understanding of grading and alteration as applied to patterns.
  • Responsible for block fittings, grading, and design integrity while meeting timely execution of all products deadlines.
  • Ability to translate designs into patterns by collaborating with design team for aesthetic, fit intent, and construction of garment.
  • Develop and create accurate patterns in digital software (Gerber) based on flat sketches, design references, or technical flats.
  • Send initial patterns along with grading to vendor to make fit block samples for review.
  • Assess patterns made by the factory to ensure accuracy of fit, balance, and construction details are met.
  • Maintain fit block library of established blocks to ensure consistency within product categories.
  • Work with design teams to identify future block needs.
  • Build strong cross functional relationships to ensure fit development meets designs intent and merchandising requirements.
  • Experienced in working at a rapidly changing, high growth environment and to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes.
  • Problem solve, work through any roadblocks that can affect poor fit/quality and communicate to design best options while working in a fast pace environment.
  • Strong understanding of textile construction, and knowledgeable in fabric structures and a variety of fit types.
  • Evaluate physical and digital samples to determine compliance of specs, construction and fit intents are met and aligned across product categories from development through production.
  • Ensures specs, corrections, patterns and tech packs are clearly communicated to vendors while maintaining consistency in fit and quality standards.
  • Identify and proactively engage supervisor when issues arise.
  • Prioritize with a sense of urgency and independently manages workload based on calendar and production deadlines.
  • Lead physical and/or digital fit meetings with design team to determine correct garment fit by capturing comments and communicating in a timely manner to vendors.
  • Cross-examine sample against the previous fit samples to ensure previous requested corrections and design intent are executed.
  • Actively participate in fit evaluations and competitor analysis by providing research, documentation and providing insight/recommendations of findings.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience a plus
  • Knowledge of cut & sew and stretch fabrics.
  • Previous experience with tops, outerwear, and inclusive sizing.
  • Proficiency in computer pattern making programs: Gerber Accumark.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Adobe Illustrator, PLM, and CLO.
  • Requires excellent organization and follow up skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Takes initiative and accountability for their work and can work independently.
  • Fast paced multi-tasking environment-positive attitude required
