Genotyping Data Processing Technician

Data Processing Technician (16hrs/week) duties include:

- Compile and check genotyping data against the sample manifest

- Perform quality control and cleaning of genotype data

- Executing scripts using the command line

- Manipulation of SNP datasets using the command line software plink

- Prepare quality-controlled data files and reports

- Upload and download data from AWS, dropbox or other cloud repositories.

- Maintain meticulous project records

Experience in all the above skills is desired but not required. B.S. degree NOT required. College Freshman or Sophomore students pursuing degrees in data science related disciplines preferred but not required. Evidence of data processing, quantitative skills or coding highly regarded.

This is a 16hr Part-time position with a flexible schedule and preference for Tuesday and Thursday/Friday workdays. The final schedule to be mutually agreed.

$20/hour paid bi-monthly.

Applicants must have their own transportation and be available to start within 1 week of being offered the position (candidates available to start as soon as possible preferred).

Candidates should possess a meticulous nature, have an excellent work ethic and willing to learn. Candidates should also be able to work independently and be willing to perform repetitive tasks.
